If anybody needs Natl. Guard troops more than New Orleans, I can’t think of it – - – maybe Greenburg, Kansas. The city (NOLA) doesn’t need them to keep order, but to prepare for a rescue during a possible second big storm. The National Guard (I can’t remember the name of that great general who took charge during the second week of Katrina mess, but we all need more soldiers like him on domestic service) performed with great probity when they finally got to New Orleans. Don’t send them to the meat-grinder of Iraq. They’ve done enough.

These guys are needed at home. Have Governor Sindal declare some kind of state of seige, if he has to, but keep those boys and girls in Louisiana. Tell the Governor to stop hanging around with McCain in Sedona, and get back to business of the state.
